Ansyrs ("Ansyrs," "we," "us," or "our") provides a food intelligence application for iPhone that helps you understand the ingredients, macros, and allergens in restaurant and fast food meals (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Ansyrs mobile application, our website at theansyrs.com, and any related services we provide.
We designed Ansyrs to be privacy-first. We collect only what we need to operate the Service, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
2. Information We Collect
The categories below mirror the disclosures we provide to Apple through the App Store "Privacy Nutrition Label."
Information you provide
- Account information such as your name and email address when you join the early access list or create an account.
- Dietary preferences such as allergens, intolerances, dietary patterns, and items you save, bookmark, or build.
- Customer support content you send us, including emails and feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as features used, searches performed, and interactions with the app, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Diagnostics such as crash logs, performance data, and device type / OS version.
- Coarse location (only if you grant permission) to surface nearby restaurants and menu results. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings.
- Identifiers such as a user ID we generate to associate your saved data with your account.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, or health records.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or ad identifiers (IDFA).
- We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Personalize results based on your dietary preferences and saved items.
- Communicate with you about updates, security, and support.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), your consent (e.g., for location access), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below:
- Service providers that host our infrastructure, store data, and send transactional emails on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ansyrs, our users, or others.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information for longer when required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8).
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and infrastructure hardening. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ansyrs.app. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
- App permissions: Manage location, notifications, and tracking permissions any time in iOS Settings.
- Account deletion: Delete your account from within the app or by emailing us. This removes your personal information from active systems, subject to limited legal retention.
- Marketing emails: Unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email.
9. Children's Privacy
Ansyrs is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to restaurant websites, menu sources, or other third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their policies before providing information.
12. Apple App Store Disclosures
Ansyrs follows Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and the requirements of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, including App Tracking Transparency. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies and we do not request the App Tracking Transparency permission. Our App Store "Privacy Nutrition Label" reflects the categories described in Section 2.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
